the activity or sport of moving rapidly through an area, typically in an urban environment, negotiating obstacles by running, jumping, and climbing.

Learn something new this summer as Parkour Horizons from Columbus comes to Waverly to present a FREE parkour demonstration and training for all ages!

The parkour event is scheduled for Saturday, July 9 from 1 to 4 p.m. and will be held at the future site of the main library, located next to Bristol Village on State Route 335, directly across from Columbia Drive.

Readers age 17 and under who successfully complete the Summer Reading Challenge are invited to the End-of-Summer Reading Pool Party at the Pike County Swim Club in Waverly, with swimming, pizza and drinks, and trophies for younger readers!

Adena Health System and Pike Healthy Lifestyles Initiative representatives will be at the Piketon and Eastern branch libraries at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, to talk about MyPlate, a program that teaches the importance of healthy portions. Come for free lunch for kids at 12:15 p.m., and stay for the program!

The Mark Wood Fun Show is a 40-minute program designed for children of all ages.  Mark uses comedy, magic, juggling and audience participation to produce super-exciting and entertaining shows.

Superhero Mark Wood loves to read books and uses his super-human powers to ward off the evil Eraser, who tries to remove all the words from books around the world!
