There shall be the following standing committees of the Board of Trustees: Personnel Committee; Finance Committee; Audit Committee; Building Committee; and Records Retention Committee. All committees shall consist of not less than three members. Other committees may be appointed as necessity requires.
It shall be the duty of the Personnel Committee to approve policies from the director for the inclusion in the Policy Manual and to present to the Board of Trustees recommendations from the Director for creating new positions.
The Personnel Committee shall also work with the Director in recommending to the board salary scales and raises, and shall recommend changes to existing job descriptions involving a change in salary and/or grade. The director shall also inform the Chairperson of the Personnel Committee of the dismissal of employees.
It shall be the duty of the Audit Committee to review the library’s two-year audit of financial records conducted by the Ohio State Auditor’s Office. Membership shall consist of members of the Finance Committee, as well as a representative from the community.
It shall be the duty of the Finance Committee to work with the Director in drafting and revising yearly budgets, coordinate work with the Fiscal Officer, and recommend certain transfers from budget line-items.
It shall be the duty of the Building Committee to work with the Director in planning large-scale construction and/or renovation projects.
It shall be the duty of the Records Retention Committee to review all library documents in the context of the Garnet A. Wilson Public Library of Pike County Records Retention Policy (see Policy 3.3) with the Fiscal Officer and Director and recommend items for disposal.
