It is the mission of the Garnet A. Wilson Public Library of Pike County to meet the educational and recreational information needs of area residents; to inform the community of the opportunities, services, materials, and facilities available to them; and to maintain and improve the facilities, personnel, and services in order to best serve the information needs of the service area as revenues permit. To achieve this mission, the Board of Trustees, library administration, and library staff will:
- Provide materials in various print, non-print, and electronic media on a wide range of subjects and topics to meet the needs of the service area.
- Promote meaningful programs and projects to address the interests of the service area.
- Generate and foster an appreciation of community pride in the public library and offer assistance and guidance for those of all ages and interests who wish to use library services.
- Create a working partnership with other agencies within the community.
- Make available the services and facilities of the library to area residents on an equal basis, providing they follow the guidelines for such use of the property, equipment, and resources.
