The Garnet A. Wilson Public Library of Pike County recognizes that its circulation records and other records identifying the names of library users with specific materials are confidential in nature. No such records shall be made available to any individual or to any agency of state, federal or local government, unless authorized by the director and the Library Board of Trustees for library administrative purposes or following the receipt of a court order or subpoena. Records of minors under the age of 18 may be viewed by parent(s) or legal guardian(s).
If the process, order, or subpoena is not in property form, the officers of the library will consult with their legal counsel.
All employees of the Garnet A. Wilson Public Library of Pike County shall be instructed that such information will not be furnished, except upon the direction of the Director.
