4.3 Fines

The Garnet A. Wilson Public Library of Pike County circulates DVDs, video games, Library of Things items, audiobooks, magazines, books, CDs, hotspots, and laptops. 

The library no longer charges overdue fees for late returns of materials. Only lost or damaged items must be paid for or replaced by the patron. Materials may be replaced with a new item of similar type regardless of title or cost, but they must include a receipt showing proof of purchase.

Laptops and hotspots are excluded from the above statement and must either be returned to the library or paid for in full. Replacement is not an option. 

Hotspots: $2.50 per day with a maximum fine being $100.00. The loss of components (protective case, charging block, cord) cost $20 each to replace.

Laptops: $5.00 per day with a maximum fine being $499.00. The loss of components (wired mouse, charging cord, protective case) cost $30 each to replace

Patrons having overdue library materials or lost/damaged fines shall not be permitted to check out additional materials until such time as the overdue materials have been returned or, if the materials are lost or damaged, the cost of the item is paid or replaced by the patron.
