Educators may apply for an Educator Card whether or not they hold a regular patron card. Fines on a regular patron card must be cleared before an Educator Card is issued.
Any educator may apply for an Educator Card, including teachers from Pike County public and private schools, home school educators, preschool teachers, etc. Teachers do not need to show special identification stating that they are a teacher, but they must live or teach in Pike County.
Items checked out to a teacher are due in six weeks and can be renewed once.
The items on an Educator Card are subject to the same fines as those checked out by regular patrons. Charges on lost or damaged materials must be paid.
Items borrowed on an Educator Card should be used for student instruction. Items for personal use should be on the regular patron card.
