All regular employees of the Garnet A. Wilson Public Library of Pike County scheduled to work 40 hours per week shall be granted sick leave as follows:
Employees shall be granted sick leave at the rate of 10 hours per month.
Sick leave shall accumulate to a maximum of 1,040 hours (130 days).
Sick leave shall be paid at the employee's normal hourly rate.
If any employee uses more than 80 hours of sick time within a month, the employee shall not accumulate additional sick time for that month.
Regular employees shall accrue no sick leave or vacation time while on leave of absence.
Employees shall notify their immediate supervisor as early as possible in the case of sickness.
Abuse of sick leave by any employee may result in disciplinary action.
A statement from a medical doctor may be required if, in the judgment of the employee's supervisor, sick time use is questionable.
Retirees shall be reimbursed for 30% of unused sick time.
No sick leave is paid for part-time and/or temporary employees. However, part-time employees shall notify their immediate supervisor as early as possible when reporting sick to aid in rescheduling.
