Telephones, photocopiers, fax machines and other office equipment are for conducting library business only and should not be used by employees for personal use.
Library employees should remember that the computers are work tools. It is important for patrons to have the full attention of library employees, and for non-public service employees to confine their computer time to work activities as much as possible. Therefore, personal time spent on the computers during work hours should be limited.
For the security of the library’s computer network and equipment, downloading of programs onto library computers without the consent of the library’s Automation Services Coordinator is strictly forbidden.
Engaging in interactive internet activities (for example, chat rooms and games involving other “live” players) is forbidden during scheduled work hours. These activities are not to be done on library staff computers at any time.
Cellular phones are also provided for work-related activities. One phone is store with the library’s van keys and the other phone is kept with the Director’s use and for those traveling out of town for library-related business.
