Public gatherings of civic, cultural, and/or educational nature may be held by non-profit organizations in the library’s Community Meeting Room, available at the Waverly library. The facility may also be used as a gallery for cultural and educational exhibits.
The Director and Board of Trustees reserve the right of final refusal for requests that are detrimental to the welfare of the library and/or community.
Fund raising activities, political functions, private social functions, dramatic productions, and other commercial activities shall not be held in the meeting room.
There is no charge for the use of the meeting room by qualified groups; however, it is expected that the group will be responsible for the care and clean up of the facility and equipment.
Use of the meeting room shall be through application form only. Forms are available at the circulation desk, or request may be made by telephone with a library employee completing the form.
Scheduling of the meeting room is done on a monthly basis only.
The applicant will be notified if the room is available.
Notice of cancellation should be given to the library as soon as possible.
Audiovisual equipment is available and shall be booked in advance. Also available are kitchen facilities (stove, refrigerator, and large coffeepot) and shall be booked in advance.
Other supplies (plates, napkins, refreshments, etc.) shall be supplied by the group booking the room.
No smoking is allowed in the library, including the meeting room.
No alcoholic beverages are permitted.
Groups using the meeting room shall vacate by closing time of the library.
