After more than a decade of planning, fundraising, and community support, the Garnet A. Wilson Public Library is proud to announce a groundbreaking this October for Phase One of its new main library facility.
After fundraising $3.4 million of a $5.9 million goal, the library will be able to build the shell of the building and provide multipurpose event space and workforce training meeting rooms, designed to serve as a center for community gatherings, educational programming, job training and meeting space, and economic opportunity.
The groundbreaking ceremony will mark a significant milestone in an 11-year effort to bring a modern, purpose-built library facility to the community. Additional details about the ceremony, including the official date, time, and program, will be announced soon.
